What is Groundwater

NSW Government, Department of Planning and Environment
Groundwater Management in NSW

Groundwater is one of our most valuable water resources. Groundwater and the natural environments that depend on it support thriving communities and strong local economies - both now and into the future. Groundwater is essential to NSW’s environment, communities and economy.

We designed and animated this overview animation, to help show the importance of groundwater and its management in NSW. This initial animation later became an extended series of 6 further animated videos, each addressing a specific aspect of groundwater management in NSW, we developed these out of the initial design and illustration style. These explainer videos sit on the Department’s website, allowing visitors to get a better understanding of the most important aspects related to the management of groundwater in NSW.
